Welcome. Let’s find a comfortable position. Close your eyes and allow yourself to simply be present.
Let’s begin with a deep, full breath in through your nose… and a long, slow breath out. Again, breathe in… and breathe out.
Now, bring your attention to the feeling of your body. Notice the sensations of contact, the feeling of the air on your skin. Keep breathing.
Today, we’re going to awaken our senses to the present moment. So often, we move through our day on autopilot.
I invite you to turn your attention to the sounds around you. What do you hear? The hum of a refrigerator? A distant car? The quiet sound of your own breath? Simply notice with curiosity, without judgment.
Now bring your attention to your sense of touch. What do you feel? The texture of your clothes, the warmth of your hands, the solid ground beneath you.
What about your sense of smell, your sense of taste?
And with your eyes closed, what is your awareness of light and dark?
By engaging all of our senses, we anchor ourselves in the now.
Inhale awareness. Exhale, feeling fully present.
Feel yourself fully awake and alive in this moment. The world around you is rich with sensation, and you have the ability to experience it.
Take one final deep breath in… and as you exhale, gently bring your awareness back to your surroundings.
When you’re ready, slowly open your eyes, and look for something beautiful—something new—in the world around you.
