Welcome. Find a comfortable position. Now that you're comfortable, gently close your eyes and let your body feel heavy and relaxed.
Take a big deep breath through your nose, and a long exhale out of your mouth. Keep breathing.
Today we’re going to give our minds a little space. Imagine that you're in the center of a large open space. The thoughts in your mind are like clouds floating in the sky.
As a thought or worry comes into your awareness, just notice it. There's no need to follow it, to judge it, or to push it away. Simply watch it float by like a cloud.
Take a deep breath, and as you exhale, imagine that thought gently drifting past you. The clouds might be many, and they might be gray. But they are not the sky.
You are the sky. You are the vast, open, blue space that holds all the thoughts without being defined by them.
Keep breathing. Let's try this now. A thought arises—maybe a to-do list item or a memory. Just notice it. Then imagine a puff of air gently nudging it along.
Breathe in, feeling your vast inner sky. Breathe out, watching the thought float on by. You don’t need to empty your mind. Just notice what’s already there and give it space to move.
Feel the spaciousness in your mind. This is your default state—calm, open, and clear. You can always return to this space, no matter how cloudy your thoughts may become.
Now, as always, take a final deep breath. As you exhale, gently bring your awareness back to your room. When you're ready, slowly open your eyes and carry this sense of mental clarity with you all day long.
That’s today’s five-minute meditation. I look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
