Welcome to the Daily Pause, your 5-minute daily meditation podcast. Each day I'll guide you through a short practice of presence and calm to help you move through your day with clarity and ease. Think of this as your daily reset. A few minutes to breathe, reflect, and return to center.
Find a comfortable position, whether you're sitting or lying down. Gently close your eyes and soften your gaze. Allow your shoulders to relax, and feel your body supported by the surface beneath you.
Take a deep, intentional breath together. Inhale slowly through your nose, filling your lungs completely. Exhale with a long, slow breath out of your mouth. Again—breathe in deeply, and breathe out, letting go of anything you no longer need.
Now let your breath return to its natural rhythm. Your breath is a constant anchor, always here for you. For the next few moments, simply observe the gentle rise and fall of your chest with each inhale and exhale.
Life can sometimes feel like a boat on a stormy sea, tossed about by worries and obligations. But even in a storm, a ship needs a strong anchor to find stability. Today, your breath is that anchor.
As you breathe, notice the sensations of your body: the air on your skin, the weight of your hands in your lap. These too are anchors. When your mind drifts into the past or worries about the future, return to these sensations.
Take a moment to check in with your body. Are your shoulders tense? Is your jaw tight? As you breathe, send a wave of relaxation to these areas. Inhale calm. Exhale tension.
Feel your anchor holding you steady—centered in this very moment. You are not the storm. You are the vessel that remains anchored and strong.
Finally, begin to bring your awareness back to the room. Take a deeper breath, noticing the air around you. Remember that you can return to this grounded feeling anytime, simply by focusing on your breath or body sensations.
When you’re ready, gently wiggle your fingers and toes. Take one more intentional breath. With a soft smile, slowly open your eyes.
Thank you for making this time for yourself today. I look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
